 normally I call out touristic cities; somehow Cartagena does it with a class that prevents you from becoming sick to your stomach. I’ve done this city two ways now so let me break it down from both perspectives. Cartagena is a city that can easily provide anyone anything they want. It’s one of the rare cities like New Orleans both lawless and totally in control at the same time. I won’t give a full review of all the restaurants just a general recommendation of what’s good. I’ll just leave off the experiences that weren’t worth mentioning for the purposes of this blog.   I will state that when we walked to the market and got out of tourist town the arepas went from about 15k to 1k. Just know staying in the old city and even getsemani will cost you money, not quality. Maybe don’t venture to far out at night, however there little to no danger in the day.
